Having trouble with “disappearing” tags. I was finally able to consistently recreate the problem (on more than 1 machine). In a collection of about 15 MP3’s, I noticed that the track numbers in the v2 tags were not formatted with two digits. I selected all the files and used the tools menu re-format track numbers option. When finished, I rescanned the same directory and found that all the v2 tag information was lost. I then copied from v1 to v2, and waited until finished. Once finished, I rescanned again, and the tags were once again gone.

If I clear all the v2 tags, then copy from v1 it seems to fix it. However, my cover art is then gone. I have a pretty large collection that I am trying to manage, and this program is driving me crazy. Help please!

Update – it only lost the tag information for the tracks that needed reformatting….the tracks that were already two digits that remained untouched did not lose anything.

Mp3 Media Studio uses ID3v2.3 standard which is defined at http://www.id3.org and supported by ID3Lib.
So every program that uses ID32.3 standards and ID3Lib should be able to see pictures in Mp3 Media Studio.
