Zortam’s Change/Clear/Replace Mp3 Tags tool lets you modify or remove metadata fields across multiple files in a single pass.

1. How String Replacement Works

The Replace tool supports both full field overwrites and targeted substring replacements using a simple backslash (\) divider syntax:

• Replace Entire Field: Enter new text into the input field and check the corresponding box. This overwrites the existing tag entirely across all selected files.
• Replace Specific Text (Substring Search & Replace): Use the backslash separator syntax: Old Text\New Text.
  • Example: Typing Bobby\Roy will find every instance of “Bobby” in that tag and change it to “Roy” (e.g., “Featuring Bobby” becomes “Featuring Roy”).
• Clear/Delete Field: Check the field’s checkbox while leaving the text box completely empty. This strips that specific metadata field from all selected files.

5. Repeat for any other fields you want to update simultaneously.
