Complete Menu & Command Reference Guide

📁 File Menu
  • New Library (Ctrl+N): Creates a brand-new, empty Zortam music database library.
  • Open Library (Ctrl+O): Opens an existing Zortam music library file.
  • Save Library (Ctrl+S): Saves changes to the currently open library database.
  • Save Library As: Saves the current music library under a new file name or location.
  • Rescan Library: Scans the library database to check file consistency and verify missing/updated files.
  • Add Folders to Library (Ctrl+M): Batch scans selected folders and adds all found audio files to your library.
  • Add Files to Library (Ctrl+R): Opens a file browser to select and import individual audio tracks into the library.
  • New Playlist: Creates a new empty playlist within the application.
  • Send to Playlist (Ctrl+Alt+S): Adds selected tracks directly into a designated playlist.
  • Export Library To CSV File: Exports your entire music library catalog data into a standard CSV spreadsheet file.
  • Export Library To HTML: Generates a web-friendly HTML table catalog of your music library.
  • Exit (Ctrl+F4): Closes the Zortam Mp3 Media Studio application.

👁️ View Menu
  • Toolbar: Toggles the main shortcut icon toolbar on or off.
  • Status Bar: Toggles the bottom status bar displaying file stats and status messages.
  • Library (F8): Switches view to the main music library database panel.
  • Computer (F9): Switches view to the built-in file system tree browser.
  • Edit Tags (Ctrl+E): Opens the detailed ID3v1 and ID3v2 tag editor panel.
  • Playlist (F10): Opens and displays the active playlist panel.
  • Layout (Vertical/Horizontal) – Needs restart: Toggles between horizontal and vertical split views for the tag editor.

🏷️ Tagger Menu
  • Synchronize Tags (Ctrl+F1): Synchronizes data between ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags so both versions carry identical information.
  • Tags – Change Case (Ctrl+F2): Automatically converts tag text capitalization (e.g., Title Case, UPPERCASE, lowercase).
  • Delete All Tags (Ctrl+F5): Completely wipes all ID3 metadata tags from selected audio files.
  • Delete Cover Art From Tags (Ctrl+F6): Removes embedded album artwork images while preserving text tags.
  • Delete Lyrics From Tags (Ctrl+F7): Clears embedded unsynchronized/synchronized song lyrics from tags.

🔍 Search Library Menu
  • Search Library (Ctrl+F): Opens the library search panel to find tracks by artist, title, album, genre, or keyword.
  • Search Library For Duplicate Files (Ctrl+D): Scans your database for duplicate audio files based on tags or file attributes.
  • All Tags (Alt+F5): Filters library view to show all tracks containing both cover art and lyrics.
  • Cover Art Only (Alt+F6): Filters view to display only files that have embedded cover art.
  • Lyrics Only (Alt+F7): Filters view to display only files that have embedded lyrics.
  • Cover Art and Lyrics (Alt+F8): Displays tracks that contain both cover art and lyrics metadata.
  • Without Lyrics: Displays tracks that are currently missing song lyrics.
  • Without Cover Art: Displays tracks that are currently missing album cover art.
  • Without Cover Art And Lyrics: Displays tracks missing both artwork and lyrics.

🔊 Volume Normalizer Menu
  • Check Track Volume: Quickly checks audio gain levels without modifying files.
  • Analyze Track Volume (Ctrl+F8): Performs a deep analysis of perceived track volume using ReplayGain algorithms.
  • Normalize Track Volume (Ctrl+F9): Adjusts track volume levels to ensure uniform playback loudness across your library.
  • Set Target Volume Level: Allows you to set the reference dB target for normalization (e.g., 89.0 dB).
  • Undo Track Volume: Restores the original track gain settings prior to normalization.
  • Delete Track Tag Volume Info: Clears stored ReplayGain tags and volume adjustment metadata from files.

🔄 Converters Menu
  • Audio CD To Mp3 Converter (F2): Rips audio tracks from physical CDs and encodes them directly to MP3 format with metadata.
  • YouTube To Mp3 Converter (F11): Downloads audio streams from YouTube links and converts them into MP3 files.
  • Wav and Mp3 Converter (F3): Converts WAV files to MP3 format, or decodes MP3 files into uncompressed WAV files.

  • Play (Ctrl+P): Plays the selected track in the internal media player.
  • Send to Auto Tagger (F4): Runs automatic batch tagging to fetch missing tags, lyrics, and artwork from online databases.
  • Send to Lyrics Finder (Alt+F1): Batch searches online lyrics sources and embeds found lyrics into tags.
  • Send To Cover Art Finder (Alt+F2): Downloads and embeds missing album cover art automatically.
  • Send to Lyrics and Cover Art Finder (Alt+F3): Fetches both cover art and lyrics in a single automated step.
  • Send to BPM Analyzer (Alt+F9): Analyzes audio files and writes tempo (Beats Per Minute) into ID3 tags.
  • Change/Replace/Remove Tags (F7): Advanced batch utility to search, replace, or strip specific text strings across fields.

Library Track List Right-Click Menu (IDR_MP3LIST)

  • Tag Operations (Ctrl+F3): Performs extended tag management and macro operations.
  • Search for Lyrics (Ctrl+L): Opens manual lookup tool for song lyrics.
  • Search for Cover Art (Alt+F2): Opens manual lookup tool for album artwork.
  • Add (Paste) Image from Clipboard as Cover Art: Embeds an image copied to your system clipboard directly into the file tag.
  • Copy files to folder: Copies selected audio files to a destination directory on your drive.
  • Copy files to clipboard (Ctrl+C): Copies file path references to the clipboard.
  • Delete From Library (Del): Removes selected files from the library database (with optional disk deletion).

Cover Art Right-Click Menu (IDR_COVER)

  • Search for Artist Covers: Searches online repositories specifically for artist promo images and alternative album art.
  • Add cover from file / Save cover to file: Imports an image into the tag or exports embedded artwork to a local image file.
  • Remove cover / Remove all covers: Strips embedded artwork from the single track or entire album batch.
  • View cover: Opens the embedded album artwork in full-size preview.
  • Copy cover to clipboard / Paste cover from clipboard: Quick clipboard transfer for cover images.

CD Ripper Right-Click Menu (IDR_RIPPER)

  • Explore Folder: Opens the output folder where ripped CD tracks are stored.
  • Record (F7): Begins ripping selected CD tracks to MP3.
  • Edit (Ctrl+E): Edits CD track metadata prior to ripping.
  • Query FreeDB (Ctrl+Q): Looks up track titles and album details online from CD databases.
  • New CD (Ctrl+N): Refreshes the disc drive to detect a newly inserted CD.

🎧 System Tray & Player Menus

System Tray Menu (IDR_TRAY)

  • Playback Controls: Play/Pause (Ctrl+Alt+F1), Previous (Ctrl+Alt+F2), Stop (Ctrl+Alt+F3), Next (Ctrl+Alt+F4).
  • Modes & Views: Repeat, Shuffle, Playlist (Ctrl+Alt+F5), Visualization (Ctrl+Alt+F6).

Player Context Menu (IDR_MENUPLAYER)

  • Clear All (C): Clears all queued tracks from the player playlist.
  • Pause (P) / Stop (S): Controls current audio playback state directly within the player widget.

  • Help Online: Opens online documentation and knowledge base in your web browser.
  • Zortam for Android…: Provides information and download links for the Android companion app.
  • Purchase License / Enter License (Alt+O / Unlock): Opens registration dialogs to upgrade or register your Zortam Pro software.
  • Check for updates…: Checks Zortam servers for the latest software version.
